ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN (NEW CONSTRUCTION)

This project is not a commission or competition or anything like that. I made it because I wanted to learn it. There's not much of a portfolio that I can show, because the results are not that good in terms of beauty and functionality.  So I created this project with the intention of expressing the knowledge I have learned from studying through digital literacy for a year (mid-2023 to early-2024). This exercise aims to improve the ability to create concepts, create layout plans, 3D modeling and 3D rendering as well as organize the interior and exterior well. So this design was really created with no clients, no restrictions, and only my free reign.

This is a 48 square meter residence with a ceiling height of 3.2 m. The inspiration was a rural house that uses wood as the main building material. The design for this house is simple. I learned to organize the interior in this quite spacious house.

Meanwhile, for the landscape area I decorated a lot with plants and white flowers. I'm not a fan of wooden fences or iron fences, so a hedge is the best choice. Hedge or plant fence will enhance the beauty of your garden.

 

Public areas are arranged in such a way as to feel spacious, including living areas, dining areas and kitchens. While the private room is used as a bedroom and atelier. 

In the public spaces and bedrooms there are large windows, while on one side in the atelier and kitchen, there are ribbon windows to maximize natural light and save electricity during the day.

The kitchen is equipped with a stove with hood, built-in oven, dishwasher and refrigerator, as well as storage for dishes. The dinning table is round to make it more spacious and it fits for 4 seating. 

The living area area is for relaxation and conversation space, with a mounted TV decorated with easels and a comfortable aesthetic sofa.

The atelier room is equipped with a mini library shelf and a long desk as well as an easel for painting. There is also a lounge chair for relaxing and reading.

This is a space for productivity, so windows for natural light to enter are maximized to help the mind be calm and clear when working. 

The bedroom is not that big, there are wide windows to get rid of the cramped feeling. On one wall, a built-in closet is designed as well as storage for items above. The built-in design also allows for a small desk for dressing purposes.

 

Lastly is the hygienic room which has a large built-in storage closet that stands from floor to ceiling. There is a washing machine and washing sink in the dry area. Meanwhile, the wet room is divided into two, namely the toilet room and the shower room.

The washing machine is well organized in the built-in to still have enough storage. Because the washing machine is outside the wet room, the placement of the wash basin is also outside. Initially it was intended as a powder room, but the position of the wash basin is flexible for laundry.

For the toilet, a toilet-basin has been chosen. Because the wash basin is outside, this makes things easier. 

Meanwhile, for the shower room, an exposed shower head has been chosen. There is also a small wall cabinet for storage in each wet room.
