ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN (INTERIOR PROJECT)

This project is an online competition that I participated in mid-2023. But the design above is not the design that I submitted in the competition. So, the design in the picture above was created after the competition was over to improve my understanding and skills in designing projects.

So in this project the client wanted to refurbish a small studio apartment, that only have one room approx. 160 sqft. A minimalist style apartment and clean design with modern look (predominantly white).  

The main goal is to get a modern look but also a functional apartment for your needs for resting, cooking, working and so on. This is difficult to realize considering space limitations. The thing that needs to be done is to make the space still look spacious even though we put in a lot of things.

For a resting area, clients prefer a sofa bed, which is the right choice for minimal sleeping space. So when the bed is not needed, it can be transformed into a sofa for relaxing. The TV is placed right in front of the sofa bed for the perfect position for relaxing. 

    

Meanwhile, in the corner of the room, is the work/study area. To make ourselves productive, the presence of natural light plays a big role in making us start working with a clear mind.

    

The kitchen area of ​​this apartment is a space designed to make full use of space, namely for cooking, gathering and storage. For the kitchen appliances, it is equipped with a sink, stove, microwave, refrigerator, hood, place to store dishes, plates, glasses etc. For gatherings there is also a dining table with four comfortable chairs.

The built-in on the left wall is used to store various dining utensils. Meanwhile, the built-in on the right wall is used to store clothes or other items.  

    

The built-in on the right side continues to extend to the front door area. Small built-in for shoe storage. The front door space is still made in such a way as a small foyer and also has sufficient storage.
