ARCHITECTURAL PROJECT (LANDSCAPE)

This project is an online competition that I participated in late-2023. But the design above is not the design that I submitted in the competition. So, the design in the picture above was created after the competition was over to improve my understanding and skills in designing projects.
This project aims to change the existing outdoor area to make it more beautiful and functional with landscape design and outdoor gathering places. A refurbishment project to incorporate new glazed outdoor spaces, porcelain pavers, plant walls, soft landscaping, glass balustrades, etc. But as you can see, the design created does not comply with the client's wishes. Still, I'm happy to make it, because I really like the idea of this project.
Firstly, this is the space directly below the balcony. Where the client wants to create a glazed outdoor living area coming off their current sitting room. So, this is a closed living room with tinted glass walls that protect you from the outside but still feel like you are in nature.
It works like a glass house or garden room. Of course, it is equipped with a sofa, several lounge chairs, TV and bookshelves for relaxing. No need to worry when it rains heavily, this space is completely covered. With sliding doors with glass panels, allowing more natural light to come inside.
This living room is an extension of the main living room in the house. So the aim is more for relaxing use but flexible as a gathering place.
Next, there is another living area protected by a polycarbonate thermal glass roof, which is sort of a translucent material that protects the gathering area from rain and snow but still gets sunlight on sunny days. The perfect place to warm up with the woodburning fireplace.
Apart from wanting a closed space, the client also wanted a place to warm up and be one with nature. So this second living room is not covered by anything except the roof. On windy days, it is very comfortable to be in the glass room, but this place will not be protected from strong winds. Just enough protection from snow or rain.
This place is equipped with a sofa and several lounge chairs for relaxing. Apart from that, there is a beautiful cast-iron fireplace and small sconces that resemble fire lamps that warm the vibes.
Actually, the client wanted two planter walls, but because this design still leaves a lot of space, so between the kitchen and outdoor fireplace, there will be a soft landscaping. The plants planted are cypress, yucca, hedge and some white flowers.
Apart from the living room for gathering, there is also a dining area or barbecue area. The roof is deliberately made semi-open so that more sunlight can enter the room. Sky lights are made from the same material as the roof of the outdoor fireplace room, namely polycarbonate thermal glass roof.
Dining table with lots of seating with sofa and 4 chairs. A comfortable and suitable place for hosting dinner. The kitchen is not completely open, the area has clear boundaries but does not prevent the integration of the natural surroundings by using glass wood-frame balustrades.
This kitchen is equipped with built-in cabinet, washing sink, grill stove and pizza oven. There are actually quite a lot of kitchen equipment even though it is a bit small space.
