OPEN CONCEPT FOR KITCHEN, LIVING ROOM, DINING ROOM & BAR AREA

ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN (INTERIOR PROJECT)

This project is an online -small- competition that I participated in late-2024. Learning challenges through competitions is one of my ways to improve my understanding and skills in designing projects.

So in this project the client wanted to reorganize and redesign a living room, kitchen + dining room, and bar area. The new design intends to achieve a more spacious and welcoming layout with contemporary and practical design. 

The emphasis is improving each area separately while maintaining a harmonious flow throughout, with special consideration given to expanding the kitchen space and creating a separate bar area for entertaining. 

For the kitchen, clients need a more spacious design because the previous layout because the previous design was very enclosed.  The kitchen was expanded to provide additional counter space, larger stove, and a more efficient layout for cooking and gathering. 

    

Meanwhile, in the living room, there is not a lot change made. The living room maintains a cozy feel in the corner of the floor plan making it ideal for relaxing and socializing.

    

The bar area, which is a crucial aspect, will be designed as a distinct but harmonious space for entertainment.  Instead of merely merging with the kitchen, it will serve as a distinct space for guests to enjoy drinks and conversation without encroaching on the cooking area.

The built-in on the bar wall is used to store various bar/drink utensils. 

  

I made the layout plan and 3D model using Sketchup. Then for rendering I used Lumion12.  Meanwhile, for post-production of captions or notations on shop drawings or captions on mood boards, I do it with Layoutskp. Lastly, for arranging the poster I used Inkscape and Photoshop.
