ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN (INTERIOR PROJECT)

This project is an online -small- competition that I participated in early-2025. Learning challenges through competitions is one of my ways to improve my understanding and skills in designing projects. 

So in this project the client wanted to remodel an outdated bathroom to be more modern with airy and minimalist style.  Better lighting arrangements is important since there is so little natural light in the room.

The main goal is to make the design more modern and also make it look more spacious. Built-in storage is  to maximize space and avoid crowding, also adjacent to the sink for easy access. Built-in lighting with LED box above the mirror is not only efficient but also adds a modern and stylish impression.

The shower and bathtub are placed in one area at once to maximize space. A fairly small bathtub (standalone tub) is located next to a horizontal window. Apart from the shower, the bathtub is also equipped with a tub filler.

    

The toilet is located in another corner of the room. Toilet with simple design, not visible from the open door, more comfortable for privacy.

    

For aesthetics, larger tiles are used to create the impression of a larger space. The choice of gray color matches the modern design that is being aimed for, but also blends with the warmth of the wood. Floors with herringbone tiles made of stone make the room feel more comfortable, reducing the feeling of coldness or dampness in the bathroom.

Overall, the modern design for this bathroom remodel project is heavily influenced by updated materials and lighting arrangements.

  

I made the layout plan and 3D model using Sketchup. Then for rendering I used Lumion12.  Meanwhile, for post-production of captions or notations on shop drawings or captions on mood boards, I do it with Layoutskp. Lastly, for arranging the poster I used Inkscape and Photoshop.
